|Keep in mind that the points noted here are somewhat dated, particularly considering the usual hardware resources available today.
Here's a few additional points including some more recent changes in MultiCoder/MultiRec to help avoid having audio artifacts;
1. Ensure signal routing competency including hardware, cabling, etc.. as well as digital compatibility (clocking, syncing, sample rate and other factors between source and the settings of the MultiCoder device itself).
See also some of our [legacy!] tips here; http://support.davidsystems.com/sis_forum/viewtopic.php?t=113
2. In addition, theres the option to manually tweak the MultiRec buffer size in bytes for MultiMedia boards.
The Windows registry parameter is a REG_DWORD named AudioDriverBufSize that you can enter as a new key in the existing registry folder:
The default value is 98304 (decimal), valid range is 1024 to 524288.
The parameter must be set by hand, as the application does not write it, nor is it available over the GUI settings.
