Question: Which audio formats can Digas process?

Answer: The Multitrack Editor Version 3 can load linear 32, 44.1 and 48 kHz in 16-Bit directly without converting (assuming all takes are the same sampling rate).

MTE3 can also save in these formats through;
a.) choices made in the Save Extended dialog
b.) the influence of the loaded source files.

With b.), the following applies;
The format of the last loaded take that is also in the timeline, is the reference format, i.e.;
  • When a Linear file is initially loaded and then an MPEG file is loaded and both are situated on the timeline, then linear is the default saved format.
  • If an MPEG is loaded first followed by a linear file, then the format that will be processed is MPEG only when an MPEG take is on the timeline.
When the output (saved) format from a multi-format session is critical, we suggest using the 'Save Extended' function to insure that you achieve the desired format when saving!

The MTE4 will offer the additional formats of 96khz und 24bit
This is not planned for the MTE3 at the moment.

The spectrum of possible formats in DigaSystem has expanded significantly since 2005, so for a current overview of supported formats in playback and conversion, please contact our Product Management colleagues via email; david_product@davidsystems.com
